Composite / Tooth-Colored Fillings

When the dentist does find evidence of decay, you can have the cavity repaired in our office as well. We offer bonded tooth-colored composite resin fillings, which are not only more attractive but they also preserve more of your natural tooth structure.

Tooth Colored Fillings, Dentist in Grand PrairieTooth-colored fillings have several advantages: they look natural, and they actually bond to your teeth, providing a better seal to prevent further decay. They also insulate better against hot and cold, and can be repaired easily if they wear down.

Composites can also be used for a procedure known as bonding. Composite bonding is a method used to correct minor tooth imperfections or to close spaces between teeth to make them more uniform and attractive. Bonding can also be used to lighten teeth that cannot be treated effectively by whitening. During the single visit appointment with Dr. Maxey, a selected tooth-colored composite is applied to the front of the tooth and then sculpted to create natural-looking results. While bonding is not as durable or color-stable as veneers, with the use of modern materials these restorations nevertheless rival the tooth’s natural strength and appearance.
